ATHENA SCHOOL POLICIES


We want every students love to come to Athena Dance Academy and feel comfortable in our studio environment. But we also want to instill a sense of discipline and respect in our students.

Insurance
Athena Dance Academy does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs ( for any classes, rehearsal, recital, performance,etc) it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of reimbursement.
Bad Weather / Holidays
*If the pearland public schools are closed due to inclement weather, the studio will be closed if the roads are still unsafe at class time. Call the studio or check our Facebook site if you are uncertain whether or not we are open. *For Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break Make up classes are not permitted. Tuition will also not be prorated for these breaks as our Monthly Tuition is based across the entire Session. (For example, one month will have 5 Saturdays rather than 4. Labor Day can be made up during the session within any other classes during the semester in which they fall.
Attendance
Regular attendance is mandatory. Refunds are not given for missed classes but a three times only for class credits for future use and make up classes are allowed. Please finish all your makeup class within two months of time frame. Please notify the office ahead when student is unable to attend classes and please communicate with the instructor of the class regarding make up classes.
Attitude
All students at Athena Dance are encouraged to have a positive and cooperative attitude. The words “I can’t” are not allowed in the classroom!
Classes
For the regular season, we must have a minimum of Six students in a class in order to keep it open. Classes with fewer than Six students will be canceled with notice provided. For the summer classes, we must have a minimum of Five students enrolled and they will be cancelled with two days’ notice.
*Students who miss a class for illness or other personal reasons may make up the class by taking any other class fits their schedule, as long as it is not above their level, and make up class should be done within the two months time frame.
*Student withdrawal from class must give one month written notice.
*Class placement students are placed in classes based on their age and/or skill and ability, as assessed by the teacher. The teacher may recommend moving the student up or down a level after further evaluation.
*All students are encouraged to participate in costume fee or ticket purchases. the recital at each May of the school year, and students who are in the recital must attend recital rehearsals at dates to be announced.
*There are no refunds of recital fees, costume fees or ticket purchases.
*No photography or videotaping of the recital without permission from Athena Dance Academy.
*Athena Dance Academy takes pictures and videos of students for marketing purposes and all parents must sign a waiver for the release of their child’s picture and/or video.
Athena Dance Academy
